The 2-time All-Star power forward will be back in the starting line up after missing the first 10 games due to suspension. Lewis tested positive for an elevated testosterone level. Lewis stated he took an over-the-counter supplement late last season that included a substance he did not realize was banned by the NBA. He didn’t think he was taking anything illegal, so with the help of the Magic staff and they isolated an over-the-counter supplement he was taking that contained DHEA, which is frequently used to combat fatigue.

Game 5 - Magic vs. Lakers

Lewis owned up to his mistake and did his time and I couldn’t be happier to see him back in the line up. He has a career average of 16.9 points per game and almost 6 assist and 2 steals a game has been missed. He also causes mismatches, because he’s 6′ 10″, has range and he can put the ball the on the ground and take it to the hole. Lewis also brings 11  years experience, so his veteran presence is a plus too.

The Magic have a decent record of 7 – 3, but they’ve also had some bumps during the first 10 games. I can’t wait to see this team get healthy and have a few games together, so we can see what they are all about. The first test will be against a short-handed Bobcats team tonight. The Bobcats traded shooting guard Raja Bell and forward Vladimir Radmanovic to the Warriors for Stephen Jackson and guard Acie Law. Bell was averaging over 26 minutes and Radmanovic was averaging over 16 minutes per contest. I doubt Jackson will be in the line up tonight, so it’s a good opportunity for the Magic some bag time in and work over the Bobcats.
