Big loss for the Magic, but I can’t say I blame Hedo Turkoglu for opting out and becoming a free agent. He just had an awesome playoff run and the Turkish Assassin’s value is at an all time high, so it’s time to sell.

The Magic landed Vince Carter yesterday and it would have been an awesome starting 5, but with Carter in the fold Turkoglu’s touches would go down and so would his value, so he’s making the correct business decision.

Everyone knows about his 3 point shooting, but he was also a good ball handler and an underrated defender too. He’ll be missed and with the loss of Courtney Lee in the trade it means 2 players are gone from last season’s starting roster. Pietrus can start at guard, but I think the Magic need another big man to help rebound and police the paint. I’d like to think that would be Marcin Gortat, but the Magic would have to dip into the luxury tax to sign and retain his services and I like most teams I don’t think they are going to do it.
