Philadelphia 76ers v Orlando Magic

Losers of 3 straight and with nothing to play for on Wednesday against the Bobcats, it’s looking like it the Magic might end on a 4 game skid, but who cares. The 3rd spot is locked up and now the Magic just need to see who is coming to town for the opening round of the playoffs. Right now it’s the Bulls, but all the final pairing won’t be known until the last day of the season. I’m personally hoping the 76ers come to town.

Right now, the most important thing is get everyone healthy and not have any more injuries. Hedo Turkoglu was held out due to a sprain left ankle and I when I watched it happen, it didn’t look pretty. Hopefully he’s 100% come playoff time and ready to go. Also, Rashard Lewis is nursing tendonitis in the right knee, he’s expected to play in the final game, but why? Regardless, lots of teams have injuries, so “man up” and play through it. Wisely, Van Gundy is resting the stud, Howard. The last thing we want is Howard to get hurt, then we’d be like the Celtics and zero hope of winning anything. For 1 more game it’s Gortat and the bench, so enjoy.

Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said it best after the 3rd loss in a row, ”What happened tonight will have no effect on how we play this weekend.” Some might argue going in on a losing streak isn’t good, but I’d argue going in on a healthy streak is more important. If in doubt, go ask Celtic fan which streak he’d prefer.

I’ll quote some almost, not-so-famous, former athlete turned Oakley sports representative that I can’t remember or even care that much about, “If it wasn’t for my knee, I’d have gone pro”.  Ahhh Celtic fan, but my KG was hurt or we would have won 2 in a row.
